January: Weakness is Strength (Sometimes)

Because even though everyone is so firm about the idea of using a “strong” voice when you write, and not being passive … sometimes, it’s a good thing!

February: Knowledge TO Power

Because there’s a reason why people tell you to write what you know … it just might not be the reason you think!

March: Handwriting: The Personal Touch

Because sometimes you can’t rule out the power of a handwritten note.

April: Confusing Travel Terminology

Because sometimes you just have to have a little fun and make up your own comparisons.

May: Simplicity

Because, as bad as talking down to your audience is, you don’t want to shoot so high your high-falutin’ vocabulary goes right over their heads.

June: Dress Up Your Casual Wear Writing

Because sometimes you have to speak (and write) formally, and sometimes you need the linguistic equivalent of jeans … you just have to know when and where.

July: How to be Convincing

Because sometimes knowing how to write convincingly is the most important thing you can do.

August: Baby Talk

Because your “ear” for language has to come from someplace.

September: Let’s Review Reviews!

Because writing a good and fair review is an important skill.

October: Poverty of Thought

Because poverty is not just about lack of money and material possessions-and the poverty of ideas may be the worst kind of poverty there is.

November: Ooh! Shiny!

Because you can’t shine for all the world to see if you’re being constantly distracted.

December: Mental Radar

Because eliminating clutter helps you focus … no, really!

Lots of good stuff but my favorite was Knowledge to Power.

    I’m a knowledge junkie.

One of my favorites was “Poverty of Thought.” Of course, I read Punctuality Rules religiously because there are always tasty morsels that make me think about rules, writing, and life. Thanks Deb!
