Hi, Robert!

Although I like setting goals and I believe I can benefit from them, I can clearly see where you are coming from (despite being myope). I’ve had numerous blogging achievements this year, and I’ve attained almost all of them without having a previous plan to guide me.

And finally… never forget; the real key to long-lasting success as a blogger is to become a better writer (and, who knows, maybe even a better person).

I really couldn’t agree more. Now wonder this Bubbette here has set “becoming a better wirter” as her main blogging goal for 2008. (And becoming a better person is a permanent goal.)

This post definitely applies to those who are blogging just for the fun of it. Those people should just go with the flow. If your blog is just a hobby, that’s fine. But for those of us who have aspirations of developing a blog that will grow into an actual enterprise that will enable us to chuck the life of a conventional 9-to-5 cubicle desk jockey, then a little goal setting and planning is a must.
