What I Learned From 2007 - Jackie Cameron

If you're new around these parts, I just want to say how much I appreciate your dropping by! Oh, and you may want to subscribe to my feed. Thanks, and a tip o' the hat to ya!

WILF ChristmasInquiring minds want to know: What were the most amazing, profound, surprising, or even whacky things you’ve learned over the last year?

Here’s an entry from my friend Jackie Cameron, a life/business coach who writes at Jackie Cameron:

My take on What I Learned From 2007 is mainly based on writing about specific incidents – though I have veered to more thoughtful posts for a couple of choices. This choice reflects me – what I do and probably how my mind works. Should I be sharing that on a daily basis? Well I can’t see what harm it can do!

In January I decided to open my mind to looking at things in a different way after seeing an exhibition of the works of Goya.

I traveled to the most remote part of Scotland – the Shetland Islands – for the very first time in February and had to share a nugget of wisdom which I picked up after a very worthwhile trip.

I had one of the best experiences of my life when I trained as a firefighter in March.

I decided to be indulgent with this one. The highlight for me in April related to our basketball club’s success in the Scottish Cup Finals.

My growing interest in golf led to this post in May.

In June I had a bit of fun but with a serious message. I still think Gok Wan is one of the nicest people on TV.

Only a few weeks of meeting the founder, Sue Warner, I was accepted as an associate of SpeakersBank and I wrote about what we are up to in July.

Along with turning 50 I also found out about my strengths in August. You are never too old to learn something new about yourself.

I wrote September ’s thoughtful post on return from my wonderful time traveling in beautiful New Zealand.

After working in a primary school in Edinburgh for a couple of months and learning about education from the inside I wrote this in October.

Prompted by my Dad’s new hobby got me thinking in November.

And finally I could only choose this story for December.

Thanks for this Bob. And what I learned today is that my links don’t work!! Should I go back to the drawing board - or sit in the corner with the dunce’s hat on??

Sorry! Sorry! I have NO idea how it happened - and it’s not just yours, either, Jackie!

But it should be corrected now…

Jackie, it’s good to see you here - though I’m hoping to get to meet you in George Street sometime too!

I’m struggling to keep up with all these entries but clicked into the last one on the Christmas play - there is something so inspiring about what young children can do isn’t there - and something for us to remember about those qualities of wonder & enthusiasm that get buried the older we get…
