What I Learned From 2007 - Etta Rose

If you're new around these parts, I just want to say how much I appreciate your dropping by! Oh, and you may want to subscribe to my feed. Thanks, and a tip o' the hat to ya!

WILF ChristmasInquiring minds want to know: What were the most amazing, profound, surprising, or even whacky things you’ve learned over the last year?

Here’s an entry from Etta Rose, who writes at the Edge of Insanity:

I started writing because surveys only pay a little and very seldom. My Niece started a Myspace page for me and that is what really made me take off. I have three Grandchildren that I have custody of and I have been married for 34 years in Feb. I started blogging thinking maybe I could do this instead of getting a part time job. My Hubby is unable to work and does NOT get disability so it’s on me.

May – (Hello) I started writing in my blog in May. I tell you I have come a long way since that first one. I started by thinking I was funny. I usually am in real life. At least that is what my friends say. I wrote about gas prices and how I think we should send our Children to school on a donkey. I bet they are not mule jacked. But I guess what I learned was maybe I am not so funny after all. At least not when I write.

May – (China, a threat to all?) My second post was about the way we are being poisoned by the products we import from China. This was right after the pet food scare. I did not know it then but what was coming was that we are not only eating poisoned food, we are putting poisoned toys in our children’s hands. I guess what I may have learned was I may have been onto something but I gave it up.I did not post on this blog again until December and that is because I really started getting into the whole blogging thing and started many more (3) blogs at various places. What I learned in this month is you cannot keep three blogs going when you don’t even have a following on one.

December – (Making 125×125 Buttons) I posted all together in December 8 times and have more written still to post. I found out about advertising and how to put ads on my site. I learned how to make an avatar (on my own for free). I was surprised at how much people charge to make them for you. How come? I joined Entrecard and found out it is not about content it is about clicking.

What I learned so far this month is THERE ARE A BILLION BLOGS OUT THERE! I am still trying to find my niche.

Say, do us all a favor, won't you? We’re fairly easy-going about most things around here at the Zone, but please do NOT enter a keyword phrase or a business, product or service name as YOUR name in the comment section. Doing so will likely get your comment labeled as spam and deleted. You MAY, however, use a real name, nickname or handle, along with a brief identifying phrase, such as "Big Bubba, Midnight Cowboy." Thanks a herd, and a tip o’ the hat to ya! - Ed.
