Robert, I had the same problem, as well as, others. I think I will give Tony's advice a try.

Wow! Thanks for all the feedback, folks!

The only problem is, I still don't know what to do. After reading that WP support article, now I'm terrified I might REALLY screw something up if I tinkered with it the wrong way!

Plus, I have no idea where the wp-config.php file actually is. When I look under my "presentation" tab, none of the .php files contain the section mentioned in the article.

I thought the article says I have to create the file. Or did I read that right?

Sorry to be such a dweeb about this, folks, but I'm really not that much into the nuts and bolts - I just want to be able to USE it.

Come to think of it, the "Search and Replace" plugin could do the trick. You have to be careful with it though; I broke heaps of links using it.

Robert,

I had the same thing happen on a new site I'm creating for a client. Fortunately, I didn't have much there yet so I could easily correct the errors.

Although I really want to upgrade to 2.2 and change my theme, I've put off doing either ... just thinking of all the possible glitches. :-)

Angela, Something else on my to-do list is to install this plug-in: Subscribe to Comments 2.1 at http://txfx.net/code/wordpress/subscribe-to-comments/ - I have not used it yet, so I can't recommend it. But it sounds like it should do what you want. If you try it, I'd love to know how it works for you.

I had the same problem when I upgraded. I'm not letting it bug me though. The only corrections I made were to my WordPress pages and any Home page words that were messed up.

What I am looking for is a WordPress plug-in that would allow my readers to subscribe to a particular post thread of comments. Any ideas?

"Urk" a nonsense word? What part of the world are you from anyway? It's an old Coushatta Indian word that translates roughly <i>I'm about to spray whatever I'm drinking all over you!</i>

Similar to "glb", which means <i>Pardon me, but I'm choking on this Kit-Kat bar. Do you know the Heimlich Maneuver?</i> :-D

Not only that, your site has been infected by nonsense words such as "urk"!

I've no idea what the problem is; I've been putting off the 2.2 upgrade, myself. Hope you manage to fix it painlessly.
