Then and Now

If you're new around these parts, I just want to say how much I appreciate your dropping by! Oh, and you may want to subscribe to my feed. Thanks, and a tip o' the hat to ya!

Then…

Grey skies, time flies; many sighs -

Sad eyes, soulful cries; progress dies.

Now…

Blue bird, friends heard; kind word -

Hope spurred, undeterred; joy occurred!

Curious?

Well, this is an entry for Liz Strauss’ “25 Words That Connect Us” project, a joyous little exercise that anyone can partake in! Wanna know how? Why, nothin’ could be simpler, fellow Bubbas!

Just follow that cute little link there and read all about it. But hurry - you only have until Oct. 16th to join in!

Not Only That

And, since this little poem was inspired by a sudden stressful event that occurred only this week, and in an amazingly ironic (which, as you know, means made entirely of iron) turn of events (because it’s WILF week and the topic is What I Learned From Stress), well, it turns out it’s an appropriate entry for that as well.

How about that? Two writing projects with one entry! You can’t beat that with a stick, I’ll tell ya!

Two writing projects in one go - now that I can approve of!

I’m glad your grey skies turned to blue Robert. Your words bring sunshine all round the internet too.

Howdy, Joanna! Yup; it’s amazing what a simple connection with a friend can do for one’s attitude, isn’t it? Plus - well, the chance to wonk out two project entries with one single post - well, that’s just finer than a frog’s hair, don’cha know! :-D

Beautiful poem and striking image. That is such a powerful, sad sculpture. Thank you for the happy ending, Robert.

You’re welcome, Brad. I’d never seen that sculpture before, but it really struck home. Although it’s still in transition, a happy ending is guaranteed! Just don’t necessarily know what it is yet. But still… ;-)

Robert, this was so beautiful and moving. Proof that a few words can truly go a long way. I am so glad that your own skies have changed from grey to blue.

Thanks, Karen! I’m glad too. Although… it was kinda fun there for a while, feeling sorry for myself. But I digress.

Nice Poem, Robert. I’m the person that loved the blue color. So, when I’m situated in a stress condition, I will start to stare on the blue sky for hours…

By the way, the little angel in the picture reminded me of the “City of Angel”.

I know what you mean, Wilson. I could stare at a clear blue sky for hours - and have, come to think of it. And anytime I encounter angels I think of that movie too.
