Hey, great point, Marcus; thanks for bringing that out. Better - yeah, there's a nice ring to that, isn't there? Too bad most of us are so caught in our ruts we're afraid to reach for "better"!

Can't believe we won - we never win anything! :-O

The funniest thing about this whole post, is the admission at the ending. Without retreats we don't necessarily shrivel up and die. Life isn't all or nothing. But when we take time to reassess, life is just better. More like it should be.

And, DUDE, you won! Congrats!

I'm so glad I had a chance to meet both you and Gorgeous - I totally missed out last time, and I wasn't going to miss it this time! Besides, we DO seem to have a lot in common.

Glad the story resonated with y'all!

[...] The Power of Retreat by Robert Hruzek gives us an example of how attending a retreat might totally change the direction of our lives as it led to Robert meeting his wife. For me this post was especially interesting because Gorgeous and I met at a singles retreat ourselves. Funny how things work out sometimes.
Thanks for sharing such a wonderful story from your life, Robert. (And I really enjoyed re-connecting with you at SOBCon this past weekend too.)

Interestingly enough Gorgeous & I first met at a singles retreat ourselves. Funny how those things can work out sometimes, eh?

I love this story of spirit and flesh, and how the two became inextricably linked and blessed with the gift of togetherness.
