My Home Town - The Grand World Tour!

Howdy, Bubba! Hey, if you're new around these parts, I just want to say how much I appreciate you dropping by! Oh, and you may want to subscribe to my feed. Thanks, and a tip o' the hat to ya!

My Home TownA while back I started a meme called My Home Town, to help us and our readers celebrate their roots, and in the process, take us on a sortof “world tour”.

Well, although it’s not exactly burning up the blogosphere (I’m afraid it rivals the infamous “turtle meme” for speed!), there are now enough participants to start the Grand World Tour list!

So, for your reading enjoyment, I give you:

  • Charing, Kent, United Kingdom – Karin H. at Stop/Start
  • Bergen op Zoom, The Netherlands – also Karin H. at Stop/Start
  • East Koy Four Corners, New York, United States – Robyn McMasters at BrainBasedBiz
  • Melbourne, Victoria, Australia – Markk at My Opinions Are Important
  • Edinburgh, Scotland – Joanna Young at Confident Writing
  • Belgrade, Serbia – Danica at Belgrade and Beyond
  • Abilene, Kansas, United States – G.L. Hoffman at What Would Dad Say
  • Geneva, Illinois, United States – Brad Shorr at Word Sell, Inc.
  • Upper Marlboro, Maryland, United States – Edith Brown at Jeteak Press Writer Blog
  • Brisbane, Queensland, Australia - Yvonne Russell at Grow Your Writing Business
  • Montego Bay, Jamaica - Galba Bright at Tune up your EQ

If you’d like to contribute a post about your own home town to the tour, I’d love to hear from you! Drop by the original My Home Town post and leave a link in the comment box and I’ll post it right here for all to find!

p.s. Anybody know how to make a mashup? Wouldn’t you love to see these places on a world map?

You know, it would just be absolutely finer than a frogs hair if you would subscribe to my RSS feed!

Hi Robert, we might be going slowly but it’s a great way to find out more about each other and where we live. Makes the world seem smaller somehow…

Here’s one more to add your list - Yvonne in Brisbane

PS Yes I’d love to see the places on a world map but sadly don’t even know what a mashup is never mind how to make one!

Robert, I was going to write a press release for a client this morning, but instead, I’ve been reading these incredible submissions to your project. These stories are fascinating and fun - what a great idea for a project. Thank you!

Thanks Robert for the grand world tour. It was nice reading about the hometown of other writers.

Sorry, I don’t know anything about a mashup?

Joanna: Thanks! It’s on the list now.

Brad: I’ll tell you what I told them: it’s not my fault! And you’re welcome!

GL: Thanks, I’m looking forward to see where we go next!

Edith: A mashup is where two sets of data get smashed together into one application. Like all these places (the data) getting popped into a Google World map. I know it’s easy - once you know how…

Robert & Joanna - Thanks for adding me to the list. Sorry, I clean forgot to link back to Robert’s post. This was a fun meme.

Thanks Robert for educating me about a mashup. Sounds interesting…I’ll look forward to the outcome.

Say, do us all a favor, won't you? We’re fairly easy-going around these here parts, but please do NOT enter a keyword phrase or a business, product or service name as YOUR name in the comment section. It will likely get your comment labeled as spam and deleted. You MAY, however, use a real name, nickname or handle, along with a brief identifying phrase, such as "Big Bubba, Midnight Cowboy."
