Hi Bob, on the four corners were I live there is a sign that says, "East Koy, Population Uncertain." Perhaps it's because there are more cows than people. Unique, yes, and I love it.

Laura, that's one of the things I enjoy most about the work I do - it's rarely in some "tourist" spot. More likely the chemical plants and refineries I work at were at some small, out-of-the way place.

We've seen more of rural US than most, I expect, and it's all been fascinating; each place in its own way.

Such insight! Who woulda thunk? (JK). To re-itterate your story, I have a wonderful wooden "plaque," (yep, looked it up, it's spelled the same as that stuff on your teeth - yuck!)...anyway, it is a simple piece. The shadow of a man and a boy walking together in a field of grass. The words above the man and boy are what gets me, (give me a minute, don't want to choke up here). It states: "Though we travel the world over to find the beautiful, we must carry it with us or we will find it not." (Ralph Waldo Emerson, btw).

Surprisingly, you're not the first to hold this sentiment, Bob. (JK again).

Thanks for a great topic!
