Fun to read. Some really do a great job of the writers’ dictum, “show, don’t tell”.

Linked to my post that this topic brought to mind – “veni. vidi. vici.” Perhaps the original three-word story! (six with English translation, I came. I saw. I conquered.)

Thanks for sharing Mrs. MZM’s disqualified entries. The culinary conflicts were a hoot and there were a good number of entries I would have judged as finalists:

- She paints… tenderly… of his love.
- Dollars; cents; but far from “common”.
- New house plus love… new home.
- Cigar in mouth. Volleyball game. Smashed.
- We cannot escape our own shadows.
- Deal with your shadow… walk uprightly.
- My shadow mocks my every move
- Silently grass grows; loudly grass mowed.
- A picnic, a skunk; picnic over!
- He said, “Trust me.” Last words.
- Maybe, perhaps, probably, sure… no way!
- Praying, waiting, praying, waiting… thank You! [Of course I'd like this one.]
- Every good boy does fine… sometimes.
- Horses, cattle, oil-rig; every Texan, right?
- Darkness became light… one small candle.

Guess the rest of us should be happy that she’s zoned out
