About Me
Let’s see… it’s all about me, eh? Well, don’t forget – you asked for it!
OK, where to begin? I live in Houston, in the great state of Texas, in the United States of America, Planet Earth, Sol System, Milky Way, Universe… well, let’s just call it Universe #1, shall we?
In times past I’ve worked as a (among other things) Fuller Brush salesman, carpenter’s helper, piping designer, Y2K consultant, management consultant, a mechanical engineer, and an engineering project manager.
Although born in Texas, over the years Mrs. MZM and/or I have had the privilege of living and working in quite a few U.S. states (California, Florida, Georgia, Louisiana, Michigan, Ohio, Oklahoma, Oregon, Nevada, North Carolina, South Carolina, Virginia and Washington) and several countries around the world (Aruba, Canada, France, Taiwan, the Netherlands and Venezuela). In fact, since we’ve been married, we’ve moved over 60 times! Sounds crazy, but it’s true…
My education has been somewhat, well, for want of a better term, elongated. By that I mean it took over twenty years to complete my first degree! But having finally finished what I started, I discovered an amazing truth – that learning was incredibly rewarding and fun! Once I learned that, I just had to keep going, so after finally receiving my Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering, I took a Master’s in Engineering Management. Then what the heck, just to round things off, I completed a Doctorate in Business Administration.
These days I mostly work as an Engineering Project Manager. It sorta keeps me hoppin’, and because of it, I occasionally travel to wherever. In fact, you never know where I might turn up, so I advise you to check over your shoulder now and then because, well, you never know…
Thanks, and a tip o’ the hat for dropping by Middle Zone Musings!
