A Quick Question For You

Howdy, Bubba! Hey, if you're new around these parts, I just want to say how much I appreciate you dropping by! Oh, and you may want to subscribe to my feed. Thanks, and a tip o' the hat to ya!

Howdy, y’all!

Sorry; no long post today (sound of the audience weeping), just a quick question for ya.

You guys remember that recent scientific finding that fish only have a six-second memory (or was it three seconds)? Well, if that’s true…

Then how come they also tell us that fish is supposed to be, you know, brain food?

You know, it would just be absolutely finer than a frogs hair if you would subscribe to my RSS feed!

    I’ve been eating tons of fish lately. What was your question, again?

    @Lisa - Hey, wait; you missed my point! I’m asking you to tell me!

    @Brad - So have I (makes a quick, L-shaped move)… but I can’t remember why. :-\

    Interesting question - perhaps they forget all their mistakes and bad habbits.

    Cheers

    Wow, Andrew - I think you may have put your finger on why so many of us don’t learn from our mistakes! This may go a long way to explaining politics, don’t you think? :-D

    I’m glad I waited until I was home to read this. The folks at Panera Bread weren’t appreciating my morning laughter from your other posts and Twitters. The kids are all in bed with their hearing aids off this morning, so I’m laughing away.

    I think God designed ‘em that way so they’d go for that worm on a hook again and again.

    You may be right, Karen. Can you imagine how boring a fish’s life would be if they were actually smart? Day in, day out: swim, swim, swim, swim, swim, eat, swim, swim, swim….

    They’d probably be jumping on the hook anyway just to break the monotony!

    I believe the popular rumor is goldfish (not fish in general) have a memory of six seconds, and I also believe it’s false. Visual perception psychologists teach goldfish to recognize certain patterns, which would impossible to expand beyond 6 seconds if their memory was only that long.

    So you’re sayin’ they really DO have a longer memory? Wow, that’s a relief! I guess I no longer need to post a “You’re a goldfish!” sign at one end of my aquarium so he’ll remember who he is every time he makes another lap?
