All Entries: What I Learned From Community

A big ol’ Texas-sized Waa-hoo (sound of big ol’ Texas sized Waa-hoo) for all you wonderful, talented (and no doubt extremely good-looking) writers who joined us for this month’s group writing project: What I Learned From Community!

Hey, I appreciate that you’ve chosen to share your stories (and more importantly, your lessons learned) with the rest of us! This month we garnered a total of 16 entries – a mite on the low side, but hey, who cares, right? I say - Way to go, y’all! (Sound of crowd cheering enthusiastically, sound of fireworks)

Now, for your edification you’ll find each and every one of ‘em listed below (in no particular order, other than it’s how I found ‘em). Do yourself a favor and check ‘em all out.

Heck, why not do something really out of the ordinary – why not drop by the authors’ blogs and start a conversation, why don’cha? You just may be glad you did!

And last, but hopefully not least, here’s two more entries from yours truly:

Y’all give yourselves a big hand, my friends, and as usual, I salute you all with a big ol’ tip o’ the hat! Be sure to tune in next month for the next exciting edition of the What I Learned From… groupwrite project. And fair warning, y’all – it ain’t that far away, y’hear?

So, what’s the topic going to be, you ask? Well now… that would be telling.

Robert, thank you! You lead by example. You have created a place that is welcoming, supportive and encouraging. Community is truly a theme that hits the zone where it lives. I can think of no better way to celebrate than to reach out and say Howdy to neighbors of the zone. Awesome round-up of posts from a group of genuinely good people.

@Sarah – Hey, nice of you to say so – and a tip o’ the hat for dropping by!

@Karen – Y’know, forming a community was not something I “set out” to do; it kinda sorta just happened. But wow, now that we’re all here, am I glad it did! And that you’re an honored member is just finer than a frog’s hair!

    Robert,
thanks for all the work you are putting in WILF! You know that I like to compare blog communities with pubs – of course the crowd coming in is important, but also the landlord who creates a nice, friendly, welcoming atmosphere. And the beverages are important, too – which means, in your case, your most entertaining posts.

@Ulla – I like the visualization of communities as pubs, Ulla. In my mind (which admittedly may be a very strange place) it’s a homey place, filled with comfortable chairs, a roaring fireplace, good friends and great stories. My kinda place!
