Coming eBook: The Age of Conversation

The Age of ConversationAbout two weeks ago, Gavin Heaton and Drew McClellan announced they were going to publish an e-book called The Age of Conversation. As conceived, it’s a compilation of essays, all dealing with various topics. It will be for sale, and all proceeds will go to Variety, the Children’s Charity.

By the way, the book will be dedicated to CK and her mom, Sandra Kerley.

Their original goal was to recruit 100 authors, each of whom would write about 400 words, or about one page. As of this writing, the search for more authors is closed, but they’ve exceeded that goal – we now number 103!

Yep, I’m in there too, and I must admit this was probably my greatest challenge to date – to stop talking when I reached 400 words!

Here’s the list of contributing authors (and talk about great company to be associated with!):

Hi Bob. My research is almost complete for my 400 words, but, like you, I’m not so sure I’ll be able to stop there.

So glad to be in your company.

  2. Robert Hruzekon Apr 20th 2007 at 1:24 pm

Howdy, Carolyn! I saw your name on the list… we’re ALL in great company!

I managed to pull mine in at 401 words, so I’m steppin’ back. Otherwise, I’ll just tweak it to death!

Looking forward to seeing all the contributions!

  3. Bob Glazaon Apr 20th 2007 at 3:43 pm

    This is a gas of a project, T-Bob! You think they’ll let you squeeze by @ 401 ? :)

  4. Robert Hruzekon Apr 20th 2007 at 5:07 pm

Bob, I sure hope so! It took me two weeks to squeeze 1500 words into 401! And I’m bushed! Looking forward to reading the rest of it.

    Robert,

Congratulations! Sounds like quite an honor.

Thanks for highlighting this! This will be loads of fun – to do and to read.

Hi Becky! I agree, and can’t wait to read everyone else’s contributions. Besides, it’s nice to know I’m not the only one who suffered from “too many words” syndrome! :-)

  8. Robert Hruzekon Apr 21st 2007 at 7:39 pm

(Oops, Tariq! I almost missed your comment – sorry ’bout that.)

Thanks for your kind regards. As you know, it’s just an honor to be nominated. (Oh, wait, that’s from my Nobel Prize acceptance speech. Hey, it never hurts to be prepared, you know!)

    Anyway, thanks, my friend!

Congrats, Robert. Good to hear you’ll be in print (when the first person prints out their e-book)

  10. Robert Hruzekon Apr 22nd 2007 at 8:03 am

Howdy, Pete! Oh, man, I took care of that long ago. I printed out my very first post just so I could say “Hey, I’m in published!

As they used to say about Mad Magazine, “Suitable for framing… or wrapping fish.”

Robert – The list of bloggers is as impressive as the project itself. Honored and humbled to join you and the other talented people.

Thanks, Toby – I’m really looking forward to seeing the result!

Thanks for visiting my blog Robert. I, like everyone else that has commented, can’t wait to read the finished product!

  14. Steve Roesleron Apr 25th 2007 at 8:14 pm

    Robert,

    What an exciting project!

Thrilled to be a part of it and still trying to get (down) to 400 words…

  15. Robert Hruzekon Apr 25th 2007 at 8:58 pm

Michael, we’re all waiting with “bated breath” (whatever that is!)

  16. Robert Hruzekon Apr 25th 2007 at 9:13 pm

Hey, Steve, just do what I did – write 1600 words, then circle every fourth one. Voila! I was amazed at how much sense it made…

I’m kidding. It was actually every third word.
