My Name is Jennifer and I my one-year Blog anniversary was January 13. So 2008 and was my first year to be a blogger.

And my last to be a housekeeper.

To say that my home has suffered due to my blog would be a ridiculous understatement. I have no real love of housework, never have. But with the addition of blogging to my life… wow. The Dust Bunnies have grown to scary numbers. I am just waiting for the government to catch wind of this. I am sure they could train my Dust Bunnies to help with military operations. They have advance skills in hostage-taking. And torture practices? They could just make the prisoners read my blog… they would crack. Oh yes, they would tell the Dust Bunnies everything.

And then I would blog about it.

But I am chasing rabbits, er, dust bunnies? This is supposed to be about 2008 and the posts that I wrote during the year. Let the torture – I mean blog post – begin.

January – a blog is born. I am sharing the post about my son’s skills as a school fundraiser salesman… and his Vanna Hands. You will find it HERE (http://dustbunnyhostage.blogspot.com/2008/01/move-over-vannatheres-anew-kid-in-town.html )

February – This is of course, the month of love, as well as the month of my son’s birthday. But I am choosing the post that talks about my ravenous romantic appetite. (http://dustbunnyhostage.blogspot.com/2008/02/what-can-i-say.html) Yeah, not quite.

March – There were family birthdays in March that I could have shared. Posts in memory of deceased loved ones. Cancer awareness. But I thought I would share a post about my inanimate friend, the Traveling Geisha. (http://dustbunnyhostage.blogspot.com/2008/03/fun-monday-edition-3.html ) She has been the source of a few more (inner dialogue laced) posts, listed on my sidebar. This reminds me that I need to do a new post about her… if she is even still talking to me. The Traveling Geisha can be temperamental.

April – In April, I changed the thumbnail picture on my profile. As I visited around Blogland, I had a warm reception to the photo. This post (http://dustbunnyhostage.blogspot.com/2008/04/well-im-officially-fat-girl.html ) tells how the picture came to be.

May – I had several pretty good posts during this month. It was before we began our relocation process and I was still pretty care free and well, happy. I decided to share the post about Bear E. White III, Blog Bear Extraordinaire. ( http://dustbunnyhostage.blogspot.com/2008/05/its-all-about-you.html )He visited my blog buds FOR me!! I hadn’t visited the folks on my blogroll regularly in a while and he took care of it for me.

June – this was a big month. My daughter’s 11th birthday, the beginning of our big move, the birth of my nephew, a FAT trip to the beach, BLOGBLAST FOR PEACE… a full month! But I think the most significant post of June was when I told my readers that they were crazy (for reading me) and subjected them to an ink blot test. (http://dustbunnyhostage.blogspot.com/2008/06/come-in-and-lay-down-on-coucha-give.html )

July – I wrote this post in July about an elderly hoochie. Update to this post? She is no longer around. THANK. GOD. (http://dustbunnyhostage.blogspot.com/2008/07/breaker-breaker-one-nine-this-is-dust.html )

August – this month brought the start of the Alabama Crimson Tide Football season, my son’s difficult adjustment to a new school, and a loooooooong post that answered questions asked by other bloggers. But my favorite post of this month was a fairy tale, written about real life! (http://dustbunnyhostage.blogspot.com/2008/08/sincerely-fro-me-to-you-fairy-tale.html )

September – This month brought FOLLOWERS! I added my followers to my sidebar (all are welcome by the way – kool aid socials held fairly often). And I decided to share some history about me, just so folks would know what they were getting into. This post is about the fun I had on This is Your Life! sort of…. (http://dustbunnyhostage.blogspot.com/2008/09/helloooooooooo-blog-friends.html )

October – This was such a great month. I met my Best Blog Bud Forever Valarie (http://valarielea.blogspot.com ) in real life – that’s BBBF IRL. It was also a crummy month – I had terrible computer problems.

I am sharing a post where I talk about two of my favorite things … my kids and Alabama football. The photos on this post are some of my favorites EVER. (http://dustbunnyhostage.blogspot.com/2008/10/great-saturday.html)

November – Wow. What a month. The Tide beats Auburn, Blogblast for Peace, and I am bitten by a Black Widow Spider. As the Blogapalooza seems to center around time, I share this post about the passage of time – and my gripe about it. (http://dustbunnyhostage.blogspot.com/2008/11/correspondence.html )

December – This was of course a wonderful month because of Christmas. But it also brought TERRIBLE sadness to me. A fellow blogger, Mark (http://canceriskillingme.blogspot.com ), died of cancer. This post is about that loss. (http://dustbunnyhostage.blogspot.com/2008/12/life-goes-on.html).

Now I am going to cheat juuuuuuuust a little bit. I want to end this on a happier note. So, since I don’t want to forget the ones that have made Dust Bunny Hostage possible, here is a post about THE DUST BUNNIES. (http://dustbunnyhostage.blogspot.com/2008/12/letter-to-santa-from-dust-bunnies.html )

I’ve been reading your blog for a long time. You have a way with words and your humor has put a smile on my face and laugh in my mouth many a time. I hope those dust bunnies continue to grow if it means more posts from you.
