Guest post by Steve Woodruff who writes over at Sticky Figure, Steve’s Leaves, Impactiviti and MarketingProfs Daily Fix
January: Top 5 Things to do while Stranded at the Airport (StickyFigure blog). Having some downtime in O’Hare Airport due to weather, I dashed off this post which seemed to hit a number of funny bones throughout the year.
February: Branding a Department (StickyFigure blog). Everyone is familiar with branding products, or even oneself (personal branding), but what is involved with branding a department within a corporation?
March: This Wasn’t in the Script (Steve’s Leaves blog). A muse on the fact that no matter how much you plan, child-rearing is unpredictable, and results aren’t guaranteed.
April: The Power of Networking (Impactiviti blog). Fresh off a wonderful weekend socializing with 80 other bloggers in NYC (Blogger social ’08), a reflection on the amazing relationship-building tools and opportunities we share.
May: Be Prepared – Like, Right Now! (Impactiviti blog). Eight ways to build a professional network before you need it, why it should be done NOW!
June: A 3-D View of Insecurity (Steve’s Leaves blog). There are 3 “D’s” to responding to our insecurites. Only one – Determination – is healthy.
July: One Interface to Rule them All (StickyFigure blog). Experiencing social media fragmentation? This is the first post of a seven-part series exploring what the ideal “everything” web interface might look like. Warning: moderately high geek factor!
August: Go Ahead – Pitch a Fit! (MarketingProfs Daily Fix blog). Many make the mistake, when “pitching” to prospective clients, of trying to say everything. Instead, pitch a fit – tell precisely how your offerings match up to the client needs.
September: Marketing Swagger (MarketingProfs Daily Fix blog). I confess – I like marketing swag. But what goes into the best and most memorable giveaways? An interesting discussion that carries on into the comments.
October: New TwIndependent Party Springs up Overnight (StickyFigure blog). This, in a series of “spoof” posts during the year, proved to be a popular entry, as two well-known bloggers were drafted into the presidential race without their knowledge.
November: Personal Branding – What’s your Value-Add? (MarketingProfs Daily Fix blog). What is your personal brand? More to the point – what value to do you add to your company, your community, and your clients?
December: Finding Grace (Steve’s Leaves blog). A well-know parable, re-told with a modern spin.

Yeah, I’m agreed that the determination is one of the main factors to overcome the insecurity, Steve. Those people that didn’t have the determination to embrace the failure will probably remain a loser in his/her life!

[...] Robert is running a blog series called Blogapalooza (hint: you can still participate!), in which authors are invited to pull out their top posts or lessons from each month in 2008. Branding a Department was my favorite.
The points resonated for me and in today’s world if you don’t brand your team / org / department effectively … it dies.
The brand stands above the info overload and builds an emotional connection — ideally of trust. Trusted sources win in today’s world.
