What I learned from 2008

January: Changing my heart and changing my life I began learning to consciously hide God’s Word in my heart.

February: Caught in the Crossfire?

I was reminded to walk with my eyes wide open and be aware of my surroundings.

March: Some lessons are hard to learn….or teach

I realized that sometimes it’s harder for parents to teach a lesson than it is for kids to learn the lesson.

April: Detour 2

I learned to stop and listen for God’s leading, and how great it feels to act on it.

May: When I *knew* I was a mom

I reflected on the moment I went from being my son’s “babysitter” to being his “Mommy”.

June: Long Week: Part 1

This was actually my only post in June.  My Mommy heart was torn as my daughter faced medical unknowns. I had to learn to trust.

July: He loves me more

I learned a valuable (and expensive!) lesson:  my husband loves me more than anything we own (even his brand new giant flat panel TV).

August: Total transformation

I compared the re-branding of a convenience store to the transformation that occurs when someone turns her life over to Christ.

September: Angels Watching Over Me? Restoration

This follow up to July’s lesson focused on forgiveness (and the ability to forgive myself).

October: Stronger than I knew

I learned that I CAN do more than I think I can.  And it’s okay to stop short of the goal, as long as I know I’ve given it my best shot.

November: Spelling and Google

I learned that you really can find just about anything with Google. (And, in the process, I really impressed my almost 11-year old son.)

December: Sweeping tips )

I shared my journey (and addiction) to making the most of on-line sweepstakes and blog giveaways.

My name is Julie, and this is my first time participating in a WILF project, but I definitely want to try it again!  I am a full time working Mom of 3 (ages 3, 5 and 11).  My husband and I have been married almost 22 years.  We are Christians and we serves as marriage mentors.  I started blogging about 4 years ago but I got more serious about it 2 years ago.  My goal is to post at least 2 times a week.

I blog about my life.  I share things I like. (I’ve done a couple of reviews of products that were sent to me, but most of my reviews are for things I’ve bought or been given.) I enjoy entering sweepstakes, and I’ve had a pretty good year this year.

Hi Julie, you write very nice. I think you can easily become a columnist or at least write once a month for some newspaper.

Thats a good record to maintain. Like the way you named your “project”. It seems that your being Christian and a marriage mentor reflects a lot in many of the things you learned in 2008. What a better way to set an example to follow.

Wish you and your family a great 2009. May the love of Christ shine through your work.

Some lessons are hard to learn….or teach was my favorite.

It’s a great reminder of tough love.
